This Privacy Policy explains how Crime Incorporated ("Crime Inc", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects personal information when you use our website and services (the "Service").
1. Operating location
We operate from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Depending on where you live, your data may be processed in other jurisdictions where our hosting or service providers are located.
2. Information we collect
A. Information you provide
- Account information (e.g., username, display name, password hash).
- Seller information provided during onboarding (e.g., business name, contact preferences) when applicable.
- Listing Request information when you submit interest in a listing (e.g., your name, email, phone, and message).
B. Information collected automatically
- Log data such as IP address, device/user agent string, timestamps, and pages accessed for security, audit, and performance monitoring.
- Cookies / sessions used to keep you signed in and to protect the Service from abuse (e.g., CSRF protection).
C. Push notification data
If you enable web push notifications, your browser provides a push subscription (an endpoint and cryptographic keys). We store this subscription so we can send you notifications you opted into (e.g., alerts, listing requests). You can disable notifications at any time in your account settings or browser settings.
3. How we use information
We use information to:- Operate and improve the Service.
- Authenticate users and enforce access controls (including PIN‑gated access).
- Process and route listing Requests to staff and the relevant seller.
- Prevent spam, fraud, and abuse (including rate limiting and audit logging).
- Comply with applicable law and respond to legal requests.
4. How we share information
- Staff access: Authorized staff may view Requests and system logs to operate the Service.
- Sellers: Sellers may be notified that interest was received for their listing. Depending on the transaction flow, buyer details may be shared with staff and (when needed) with the seller to coordinate fulfillment. We do not publish buyer contact details to other buyers.
- Service providers: Our hosting and infrastructure providers may process data to deliver the Service.
- Legal: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the Service.
5. Data retention
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above, including security, auditing, dispute handling, and legal compliance. Request records may be retained to support quality assurance and trust/safety analysis.
6. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the Service and stored information, including role‑based access controls, session protections, and audit logging. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
7. Your choices
- You can update certain account details from within your account area.
- You can disable push notifications via your account settings or browser settings.
- You can contact us to request access, correction, or deletion, subject to security and legal requirements.
